A downloadable game for Windows and Mac OS X

"Borders" is a stealth political art game where players must walk in the shoes of an immigrant and experience the dangerous journey across the desert in hopes of a better future. Based off the stories told by Hispanic parents and grandparents of the dangers that they experienced, players must avoid (La Migra)border patrol and the extreme heat of the desert by moving through bushes and staying hydrated. Every death is permanent, just as those lost in real life. How many lives will you lose to make it to the other side?

Made in a 7 day long gamejam with two first time game developers, Gonzalo and Jon,and 1 veteran, Genaro.

Install instructions

Just follow these quick an easy steps to get the game going!

1. Download the Zip file.

2. Once its downloaded open up the zip folder.

3. When viewing the folder you should be a button that says extract all at the top.Push the button to extract the files.

4. Once the files are extracted just click on the borders name and the game should start!

Glad to see how polished this game is for a game jam game! Also good thinking with the tone, music, and setting. Curious if the whole map was manually constructed?

thank you so much! It was our first game ever so im glad to hear it all came together. The two levels were manually constructed by the Genaro and Jon while I just did the art assets.
